Winter Series: Style
Winter is the season of neutrals. White, grey, taupe... and one of my new favorites, blush! As part of my #winterseries, I wanted to put a winter-inspired outfit together. Deets below...
A wrap dress is one of thee most flattering silhouettes, even in WHITE! This sleeveless number is extremely versatile--and you might have realized by now that I love versatile pieces. It can be worn on its own or with a fitted cardigan or blazer in warmer weather, or with a blouse, shirt or turtle neck for cooler seasons. This dress was from H&M but it is no longer available. Here is one just like it in navy blue at Nordstrom.
I'm literally obsessed with all things blush. Its just so feminine and pretty <lifts right shoulder to cheek, smiling>. As I write this, I realize I'm a long way from my tomboy days, lol. This blush blouse is a wonderful addition to a wardrobe; its a neutral item with character--romantic character :) This one is from H&M as well, but it's no longer available. So here is a white option (also comes in blue & pink) and a pink option (comes in many other colors) to match the navy blue suggestion above.
I wanted to keep my accessories to a minimum but I typically like to try on options just in case something looks better than I thought it would. So I tried this chunky pearl necklace expecting to rule it out and well, I was mistaken--it was the perfect complement for the look. I got this necklace years ago fro H&M but here is one like it.
Once everything else was together, I pictured taupe boots to finish off this winter-inspired look. Taupe, suede and over-the-knee are all huge trends this season. This pair is from DSW. I'm a little obsessed with over-the-knee boots. Boots with dresses or skirts can be a hit or miss for me, especially when worn with pencil or straight cuts. They tend to either make me look shorter or make my outfit look bulky. Over-the-knee boots are my go to! They work perfectly with skirts and dresses, help make my minis winter-appropriate and they have a certain appeal worn on jeans or leggings.
