Here's a little holiday weekend style à la dashiki.
From the red carpet at the 2015 BET awards to being the "go-to" African-esque garment during black history month and of course, countless instagram profiles, the dashiki has established itself as a major trend miles away from home. I'm no expert but I know "Dashiki" to be a style typically sewn into a tunic like this, but identified by the very unique design that I describe as a thermometer shape with the bulb in the middle. Growing up in Cameroon, I always associated the dashiki with Ghana and Senegal, but lets just say it comes from the region of West Africa. Here I dressed my dashiki down with distressed denim cut-offs, gladiators and the look wouldn't be complete without a fro.
