If you follow me on Instagram (@lucyenneonline), you would’ve seen me talk about working on my goals for the new year early. But as I was reviewing goals from the previous year, I noticed the ones that haven't changed much in the past few years. You know what I'm talking about right? You probably have some of those yourself.
Now there are some things that should be on the list every year, like fitness, career, family... But you should be able to cross the goals for each of them off by the end of the year and set new ones for the new year, instead of carrying the same ones over year after year.
If you've had a fitness goal of losing 20lbs for the past 1, 2, 3 years, and maybe now you need to lose 30 lbs; or maybe you've been telling yourself you need to go back to school; or maybe you've wanted to start your own business... whatever the goal is, what do you say we cross them off for real this time?
I don't know about you but I’m sick and tired of making excuses. Coz the more I make excuses for it, the longer it is taking me to achieve those goals and in the meantime those suckers are in the back of my mind just tormenting me. And every time I see someone who has achieved those goals on my list, I'm going to be honest, I feel bad about not being where I need to be.
4 But each one must carefully scrutinize his own work [examining his actions, attitudes, and behavior], and then he can have the personal satisfaction and inner joy of doing something commendable without comparing himself to another. 5 For every person will have to bear [with patience] his own burden [of faults and shortcomings for which he alone is responsible].
And I'm done feeling bad about anything in my life or comparing myself to others. Its time to do something about it. What you’ve been doing clearly hasn’t worked all this time so switch it up. And spend no time comparing your life to others' and all the time dreaming of and creating the life you want for yourself.
