I wasn't going to post anything today because to tell you the truth I really wasn't feeling very inspired. I went from dwelling on one negative feeling on Saturday to harboring a roller coaster of negative feelings throughout the weekend into today. Reading the book The Secret recently and being all about positive thinking and attracting only positivity into my life, I should've known better than to give in to that first negative thought. But in the blah state, I decided to hit up my girls for a quick powwow and next thing you know I'm picking up my iPad and writing a blog post.
So what am I saying?
When you're down in the rut, do whatever it takes to get yourself out of it. It will seem like you're too far in but all you need to do is to take the first step out [see previous post for reference] and it'll start getting easier. This morning, my first step was hitting up my girls, and next thing I'm jumping on my blog, which I already told myself wasn't going to happen today. And after that, I was ready to take on the day a lot more than I was when I first opened my eyes this morning.
Now there's no one formula coz different things work for me at different times too. Sometimes my Hillsong playlist gets me, other times all I need is some quiet time, and most times a good sweat session (workout) does the trick, but then getting to the gym is the challenge.
All this to say, when life happens you can either let it take you for a ride or you can gain control of the reins and stir the horse in the direction you want it to go.
