Fall is just days away even though, who are we kidding, might as well already be fall, with how cool and rainy it has been lately. But don't put those summer clothes away just yet. Let's talk about a very simple way to spin those summer 'fits to work for fall.
The key to nailing fall style is layering. And the easiest way to layer is by throwing on outerwear.
Fall is the season for outerwear
In the fall and spring alike, you get a chance to wear more options of outerwear than you would the other seasons. In the summer, it is usually too hot to throw on anything other than something extremely light like a kimono and in the winter, it is way too cold to wear anything other than a coat or a jacket lined preferably with fleece.
But in the fall, sometimes it is warm, wet, cool and even cold and you can switch your outerwear up between trench coats, dusters, bomber jackets, puffer jackets, military jackets, leather jackets, parkas and now kimonos. And mind you, these are just a couple of the options. The outfit possibilities, as you can imagine, are endless.
And the great thing about having so many options is all styles, sizes and occasions are covered. For this outfit inspo, I paired this lovely floral midi with a rose gold satin kimono. It was a fairly warm day but there was a cool breeze in the air that this kimono gave me just the right amount of shielding from. And I could let it slide down and wear it as a shawl every now and again.
