Getting out of bed is hard enough in this weather, and getting to the gym is even harder. I thought I'd share a few tips that might help get you active a little more than you have been so far...
Seize every opportunity to get active. Take the stairs, go for a walk at lunchtime, park your car a little further away from the entrance of the grocery store or your job...
Working out while doing something else can be a great way to make it seem less dreadful. So catch up on your shows, read a book or a magazine, get some work done, let the kids join in...
Have someone keep you in check. Whether its a spouse, friend or trainer, appoint someone in your life who is going to encourage you to workout or possibly even do it with you.
Don't think about it
Don't give yourself a chance to talk yourself out of it. So when the question <insert thought bubble here> "should I workout today?" pops up in your mind, refuse to engage in that argument and workout.
Winter wardrobe tends to lean towards the cozy side...sweats, t-shirts--loose-fitted and cozy clothing, which can make you less conscious than you would be if it were bikini season and as a result, not as strict with your diet and exercise. So give yourself a bikini-type reason in the winter to stay on track.
Get warm gym clothing. Taking some comfort with you makes it a tad easier to brave the weather for a sweat session. Now you may want to layer it up that way you can take a layer off when you're in full workout mode.
Pack your gym bag the day before, if you hit the gym first thing in the morning, or take it along with you and change at work before leaving, you'll be less likely to skip your workout.
